Pain assessment

Pain assessment is an essential part of patient’s comprehensive care and overall well-being. The purpose of the monitoring conducted by Hoiverke Consortium regarding pain assessment is to determine how many patients have had a pain assessment performed at least once during a treatment period. The collected data provides valuable insights into the coverage of pain assessments across different care environments.
Data Collection
The pain assessment pilot will be conducted as a monthly cross-sectional study in several 24-hour nursing and care units, starting in July 2025. Organizations will report the completed pain assessments as a percentage of the patients present in the unit at the time of data collection. National data will be compiled by unit type. The national comparison data on pain assessment will be compiled in the Wellbeing Services County of Central Finland.
Results
Results from the pilot are expected by the end of 2025.
